Spark Skill is proud to announce the Excellence in Technology Achievements, honoring students who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and ability in Spark Skill technology classes.

This distinction has three tiers: Bronze, Gold, and Platinum. Each tier entails progressively greater eligibility requirements, benefits, and honor. The student must meet all applicable requirements at any point prior to his/her freshman year of high school, and must submit a brief application between August 1st and September 1st of his/her freshman year of high school to be considered for an achievement. Regardless of the grade in which the student meets the requirements, this achievement will be presented to the student in April of his/her freshman year of high school.

Platinum: (Highest Honors)

  • Consistently demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and ability in Spark Skill classes
  • Successfully complete four Spark Skill courses during any sessions prior to freshman year of high school 
    • One course must be in advanced programming (iMake Apps or Cyber Security)
    • One course must be in product design (3D Printing, Drone Development, or 2016's Design & Make)
  • Spark Skill teacher recommendation is required to be considered for this achievement
  • Student must submit a 45 to 60 second video about their experiences at Spark Skill, what they learned, and how their newly acquired knowledge in technology will benefit them. A Spark Skill representative will be available during daily summer program breaks to work on this project with students applying for the achievement.   • Bonuses:
    • Spark Skill will work with the student to develop an online portfolio, hosted for free on our website, and tailored to serve as a supplemental college application material
    • Signed Certificate
    • Medal and Plaque during a student's freshman year of High School
      • With the family's approval, we will work with the school to honor them publicly
    • Qualifies student for leadership experiences and internships at Spark Skill during High School (subject to availability)

Gold: (High Honors)

  • Consistently demonstrate leadership, dedication, and ability in Spark Skill classes
  • Successfully complete three Spark Skill courses during any sessions prior to freshman year of high school
